SUMMARY

The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing product and services for business development opportunities. The Buyer will ensure that AAR is receiving the best overall price and continues to build and develop strong relationships with strategic vendors. The Buyer will endeavor to source and procure product that meets operational requirements and place AAR in the most strategically advantageous position. The Buyer will also ensure all compliance requirements are met while performing all assigned duties.

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, vet, and introduce keystrategic partners to AAR's supply chain that provide the greatest value.

  • Understand market conditions andopportunities to leverage AAR's volume in the marketplace.

  • Establish and build strong relationshipswith internal customers and other key stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain relationships withselect strategic partners who provide significant benefit to AAR.

  • Source, solicit, and obtain written quotesfrom responsible vendors for product or services.

  • Conduct negotiations with vendors, whenappropriate, to ensure AAR receives the best possible offers.

  • Analyze quotes and conduct sourceselection to determine the vendor(s) which provide the best value, or lowestprice, while aligning with AAR’s operational requirements.

  • Sources and procures in compliance withall AAR policies and procedures.

  • Confer with management to understand operationalrequirements to ensure to ensure product or services are appropriately sourced.

  • Analyzespecifications and determine the best source for procurement of commodities.

  • May coach other Buyers.

  • Travel is required.

  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONand/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) orBachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; oreight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.

  • Must have previous corporate buyingexperience.
