ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing searches on sites for articles of interest relevant to AAR’s core capabilities;

  • Reviewing task orders distributed under IDIQ contracts; and,

  • Following and reporting on opportunities using FedBizOpps.gov, GSA e-Buy, Deltek GovWin, and other similar services.

  • Supports the process of developing government proposals.

  • Determines concepts and required content by qualifying opportunities and identifying resource needs; analyzing requests for proposal (RFPs); attend strategy meetings in support of the Capture Manager.

  • Prepares proposal content by interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) including: Operations, Contracts, Engineering, Product Lines and Quality Assurance to develop appropriate proposal content and obtain approvals from SMEs and Senior Staff.

  • Meets project and proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals.

  • Develops familiarity with AAR Supply Chain businesses and consults with international sales team and business leaders.

  • Maintains a library of historical proposals and technical content including records and files of work and revisions to achieve quality results through the use of templates and follows branding and marketing standards to deliver consistent sales message and tone.

  • Improves proposal deliverables by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implementing changes.

  • Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding; coordinating printing.

  • Supports the identification, development and evaluation of capture strategy based market characteristics and opportunities in the market place.

  • Assists Capture Manager (s) in updating and managing the opportunity pipeline. Keeps abreast of opportunities in-process and future opportunities on the horizon. Recognizes and will raise awareness to potential resource shortages.

  • Contributes to the research and analysis of market intelligence to produce competitive analyses.

  • All other duties as assigned.

This person may be asked to assist with managing proposals, and contribute to specific marketing campaigns and continuous improvement efforts. They will also participate in ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Journalism, Communications, or a similar major.

  • 2 years of experience working in government contracting, technology, journalism, education, support operations, and/or consulting environments.

  • Excellent professional level writing and speaking skills.

  • Proficient with: Microsoft: Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio

  • Adobe: Acrobat, Sharepoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle and experience contributing to business development, capture, and proposal efforts to win business with government customers.

  • Project management experience and comfort with general business analytics, tools, and databases.

  • Experience creating compliance matrices, project schedules, and benefit-oriented, customer-focused proposal content.

  • Experience in improving and identifying issues in relevant processes, suggesting user focused improvements, and navigating/influencing cross-functional teams to drive these changes.

  • High level of creativity, perseverance, and openness to change with a drive to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships.

  • Self-directed, detail-oriented problem solver with a burning desire to contribute to the organization's reputation and success.
