Manager, Drug & Alcohol Program:

Role Description: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Corporate Drug & Alcohol Program Manager. This role will manage our comprehensive drug and alcohol testing program, ensuring compliance with regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and other government entities, in addition to federal, state and international laws. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for the company's drug and alcohol program on a global scale, coordinating with stakeholders across various regions and ensuring alignment with company objectives and legal obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the company's drug and alcohol program, ensuring consistency and compliance across global operations.

  • Research, interpret and implement policies and procedures related to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations, as well as other federal and state laws.

  • Serve as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the company's FAA-DOT regulated drug and alcohol program and act as the company's main point of contact for FAA audits and investigations.

  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance, along with the international and AAR Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) HR teams, to ensure global drug and alcohol policies and procedures align with applicable country laws and regulations while maintaining consistency with overarching company policies and standards.

  • Partner with field HR teams to educate employees and supervisors on drug and alcohol awareness, testing procedures, and regulatory compliance, ensuring understanding and adherence to regulations and company policies.

  • Work closely with Compliance and Legal to develop strategies and contingency plans to mitigate risks, address compliance gaps, and uphold the company's commitment to safety and regulatory compliance across diverse global operations.

  • Monitor, audit and review drug and alcohol testing processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to assess compliance with local laws, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Participate in other cross-functional projects and initiatives, as needed.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA-BS degree in related field or 5 years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 2 yrs. directly related experience with administering a drug and alcohol testing program in multiple states.

  • Experience in, and knowledge of, Federal DOT and FAA regulations.

  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience acting as a Designated Employee Representative (DER) for a large safety sensitive workforce employer.

  • Experience with international drug and alcohol testing laws Certified Drug & Alcohol Program Manager (CDAPA), Certified Designated Employer Representative (C-DER), or similar certification.
