Role Description:

The Learning and Development Specialist will design and deliver high-quality training solutions to meet business needs and enhance employee development. This position entails collaborating with business leaders to perform needs assessments and ensure adherence to industry standards. Additionally, the Specialist will oversee training assignments and offer support for the Learning Management System (LMS).

What you will be responsible for:

  • Conduct needs assessments and set learning objectives in consultation with business leaders.

  • Design and deliver skill-focused training through workshops, webinars, instructional videos and guides using instructional design methods.

  • Maintain records of learning activities, attendance, assessments, and retraining requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

  • Monitor recurring issues and system gaps and identify potential efficiency improvements.

  • Provide Learning Management System (LMS) support, define user roles, create courses, and manage training assignments and reporting.

Year One Critical Success Factors:

  • Business Mindset (Planning & Organizing): During the first 90 days, understand and take ownership of company training plans, on-the-job training (OJT), and compliance training.

  • People Awareness (Managing Relationships): During Year 1, meet with leaders, hiring managers, and employees to learn about their personal needs to build trust, encourage two-way communications, and strengthen relationships.

  • Embrace Growth (Adaptability): During Year 1, identify innovative solutions and more creative ways with measurable value to provide a better learning experience for users.

  • Do It Right (Quality Orientation): After 6 months, develop understanding of all aspects of the job. In addition, gain others' confidence by following through on commitments while treating others and their ideas with respect and supporting them in the face of challenges.

Qualifications:

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from a four-year college or university.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a learning and development function.

  • Proficiency in adult learning principles, instructional design, and LMS.
