The Manager of Quality Assurance is responsible for the daily operations of the Quality Assurance Department and will report to the Director of Quality. He/she is responsible for managing the details of the Quality Assurance standards, methods and procedures used by AAR - ASR repair station in compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Code of Federal Regulations to include: developing and maintaining the quality system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the quality assurance program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products.

  • Develop and maintain a published supplier quality index in conjunction with the supplier review board to ensure that only high quality vendors are retained. Maintain the facility Corrective and Preventative Action System.

  • Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.

  • Prepares for and represents the company during all ISO 9000, NADCAP, and related audits.

  • Conducts ISO internal audits on-site.

  • Performs ISO audits at other AAR facilities.

  • Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel. Function as chairperson of the facility Supplier Review Board Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.

  • Ensure that all incoming transfers and RMRs are processed properly.

  • Assist Quality Control personnel in reviewing and updating department standards.

  • Promote the pursuit of continuous improvement.

  • Administer effective training and on the job training of Quality Control inspectors.

  • Manage, assisting and monitor performance of all personnel assigned to the quality assurance department.

  • Ensure all records, reports and forms, used by AAR - ASR repair station is properly maintained and controlled.

  • Ensure all applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR), Aircraft Specifications, Type Certificate Data Sheets (TC), Airworthiness Directives (AD), and AAR - ASR Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM), and Capabilities List (CL) are maintained, current and up to date.

  • Ensure all technical data needed to overhaul or repair any article that the facility's operations specifications permit is maintained, current and up to date. This data will include manufacturer's maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, part specifications and other related FAA accepted/approved technical data used by the facility.

  • Ensure that the Internal Surveillance/Auditing and Corrective Action Program of Quality Assurance for AAR - ASR are maintained, current and up to date per all applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR).

  • Perform other duties as assigned/directed by the Director of Quality.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. PC Literate (Microsoft Office)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years quality assurance experience is required. A formal Quality Assurance credential from a recognized quality association is preferred. Exposure to Warehouse Operations is required.

  • FAA A&P License required.
