The Interior / Cabin Technician I is responsible for all duties and functions assigned normally within the airframe and provide airworthiness of the aircraft upon completion of maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficient in removal and installation of aircraft galleys, lavatories, seats, and other equipment located within aircraft.
Highly proficient in using technical data and drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.
Ensure work performed adheres to high quality standards.
Effectively direct the work of less experienced mechanics.
All other duties as assigned.

Able to communicate effectively verbally in writing in standard English.
Able to interface in a professional manner with other AAR Aircraft Services employees at all levels and with customers if required.
General mechanical aptitude.
Able to comprehend and follow instructions.
Has thorough general knowledge of tools.
Able to read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and be able to perform complex cabin reconfigurations.
Understands how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers.
Cleans various materials and treats surfaces per the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED required
5 years of aircraft interior/cabin experience required.
Current FAA airframe certificate is preferred, with powerplant certificate not required.
Able to read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and be able to perform complex cabin reconfigurations.
Understands how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Constantly: Lifting 10 lbs., standing, walking, wrist flexion and extension, environmental weather conditions.
Frequently: Lifting ≤40 lbs., push/pull <20 lbs., climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling for extended periods, working in confined spaces. Working above chest-level, overhead, and away from body for extended periods. Bending, twisting of torso, twisting and/or pressure with wrist/hands, fine finger usage, moderate vibrations up to 2 hrs. to high vibrations up to 30 mins. Vision with/without correction; near <20”, far >20’, and basic depth perception (shapes). Working at elevated heights ≥4’, working on ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, and energized parts.
Occasionally: Lifting and/or carry ≤50 lbs., sitting, basic color vision, operation of motorized or electrical equipment, push/pull <50 lbs., work in wet conditions.
