SUMMARY The Wastewater Operator will be responsible for operating the Metal Plating Wastewater Treatment Plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Treat Chrome, Nickel and Cyanide effluents from the plating process Collect rinse water samples for testing TDS and TSS levels Follow established Quality Control, Safety, and PPE practices and procedures Adhere to stringent federal and local EPA, DERM and Pollutants Preventions Acts guidelines and regulations Monitor and conduct regularly scheduled equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and authorized repairs to WWT plant and its systems Comprehensive experience on the operations and maintenance of an Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) equipment preferred Perform routine calibration of WWT pH and ORP meters and probes Safely operate sludge filter press, clean, and change filters and plates as needed Properly label waste drums for haul-off, prepare waste inventory logs and maintain controls of WWT chemistry inventory Perform data entry, record keeping and update logs using organization LIMS software Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams desired Basic experience in the use of a forklift, pallet jacks or other material handle equipment Maintain a clean, safe work environment on all WWT plant and Chemical Laboratory areas All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required Able to read and write English required Must have a minimum of 2-3 years operating a Wastewater Circuit Treatment Plant Class C Wastewater Operator License from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) in Wastewater Treatment or any Hazmat certification is a plus
