Onset Aviation Parts is an AAR Engineering Service company, developing aircraft parts as well as repairs for aircraft parts.Five engineers, including one full time DER are on staff.
Onset is located in Miramar, about 30 minutes north of Miami airport, and about 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale airport.
Onset utilizes state of the art measuring equipment (3D Blue Light Scanner, XRF Material Analyzer, laboratory equipment). Most dimensional and material analysis for developing aircraft parts is done in house.
SUMMARY Assists engineers in the research, design and development phases of aircraft cabin interior reconfigurations and aircraft modifications.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create step-by-step work instructions for the removal and installation of hardware and components as they relate to aircraft structures, systems, interiors and avionics. Create engineering fabrication and installation drawings using AutoCAD or similar software programs. Review progress with management and recommend corrective action along with review of alternatives. Apply area of degree focus (aero, mechanical, electrical) to design, develop and implement creative and innovative solutions to challenging problems. Perform such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensure adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Other duties as assigned by the mentoring Engineer and Program Manager. Mentors will provide direction on a daily basis and guidance to Intern as needed. Intern will be seated with mentors and full team. Periodic evaluations will be accomplished by mentors and supervisors generally on a monthly basis or as required.
