Position Summary

Ensures the repair station activities are compliant to Customer, Regulatory (FAA, EASA, CAAC) and Industry Certifications (i.e. AS9110. ISO 9001). Develops and implements program quality plans and procedures. Ensure that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to production. Investigates problems (root cause analysis), develops disposition (corrective actions) and implements controls (preventative measures) for discrepancies. Interacts with all departments to ensure compliance with established requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

§ Plans, Develops and executes the audit schedule to assure that all appropriate aspects of AS9110 are being reviewed; and complied with

§ Assigns corrective actions, clearly defining the requirement and discrepancy; meet with necessary personnel to ensure the findings are clear, actions are assigned and the parties understand the scope of their responsibility

§ Presents the results of audits and status of corrective actions to senior management

§ Supports the review and release of QMS procedures to assure compliance to AS9110, Regulatory and Customer requirements

§ Assure record retention requirements of audits and corrective actions are maintained in compliance with record retention policies and regulations

§ Develop approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities

§ Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management

§ Maintains CAR database; monitors database to ensure timely responses for closure of CARS (internal and external)

§ Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure highest quality levels are maintained and recommends corrective action when necessary

§ Develops quantifiable standards and measurement techniques for rating overall quality

§ Retrieves, reviews and analyzes Quality Initiative data to ensure specified quality goals are achieved

§ Identifies barriers to root causes of Quality Initiative issues and performance gaps

§ Develops performance metrics and trend analysis

§ Supports the warranty program by witnessing component testing to determine if product specifications are met

§ Ensures adherence to company and regulatory requirements

§ Develops, writes and revises company quality control manuals, quality standards and reviews test procedures for product evaluation

§ Acts as the focal point for any customer, 3 rd party registration or regulatory audits and co-ordinate all required corrective action

§ Prepares for customer and third-party auditors (complete checklists, pull completed work order package for audit, etc…)

§ Responds to customer and 3 rd party CARs, submit evidence, etc.

§ Maintains audit records

§ Administers the Supplier control process and maintains all documentation

§ Maintains and reports vendor scorecards

§ Performs on-site audits of poor performing vendors, and new vendors as required

§ Performs source inspections, as required

§ Responds to customer's supplier surveys; researches customer specifications to ensure compliance

§ Provides oversight and assistance to Operations, Engineering and Purchasing in addressing vendor improvement requirements

§ Reports to Management – audit findings & required corrective actions

Makes recommendations concerning the overall effectiveness of AAR processes and procedures

§ Assists AAR departments in developing and implementing effective corrective action

§ Review new and revised AAR procedures for effectiveness and quality system compliance

§ Assist with the completion of customer Quality Survey Questionnaires.

§ Approve and or disapprove AAR suppliers.

§ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

§ Education/Training:

  • Preferred Associates/Bachelor’s degree or 5 years Quality Engineering experience.

  • Thorough Knowledge of FAA/EASA/CAAC regulations, ISO 9001, and AS9110 Quality Management Standards

  • MS Office (Power Point, Excel, Word)

§ Skills:

  • Learn industry-related software

  • Read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and regulatory requirements

  • Sound mathematical and technical skills.
