SUMMARY

The Lead Aircraft Inspector reports to the Manager of Quality Control. The Lead will provide guidance and direction to a group of inspectors in support of a specific customer program or product line.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Available to work flexible shifts and days off.

Ensures primary inspections are performed in accordance with the customer standards or CAMP and they achieve the required completion cycle time.

Responsible for ensuring all inspection tasks, including NDT tasks, are properly planned, scheduled, and completed as required.

Assist the Project Manager by conducting workplace audits.

Supports the training and development of Inspectors and may also support mechanics as necessary.

Provide daily shift status to Inspection Supervisor

Ensures assigned personnel are aware of and are following customer and regulatory requirements.

Ensures that the proper technical data is available to assigned personnel.

Ascertain that all inspections are performed correctly and are properly documented as required by the regulations and the customers.

Provide technical assistance to and oversight on assigned personnel.

Assign inspection personnel to ensure that all inspections are performed properly and by the properly authorized personnel.

Enforce the observance of all safety precautions related to the duties of the assigned personnel.

Notify the Chief Inspector of any changes in inspection personnel for appropriate roster revisions.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must hold current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings (A&P certificate).

Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventative maintenance or alterations are being performed.

Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected.

Must read, write and understand the English language
